Gordon Common Good SCIO is inviting everyone to an Autumn Coffee Morning at Gordon Village Hall on Sunday 18 October. Entry is free, and there is something for all ages.
From 10.30am until 12.30pm there will be teas, coffee and hot chocolate, a cake stall and a tombola. There will also be kids' crafts, so bring the little ones along.
Whether you have time for a quick coffee or want to settle in for a proper catch-up, it is a chance to sit down with friends and neighbours, enjoy some cake and have a friendly chat.
The morning is sponsored by The Gordon Arms Cafe.
The Village Hall was built in 1911 and gifted to the village by the Lyal family. It has been run and maintained by community volunteers ever since, and has disabled access and facilities.

The village's former tennis court has been rebuilt as a modern Multi Use Games Area, and paralympic champion Sammi Kinghorn OBE will formally open it on Saturday 3rd October, with free tennis and football coaching all day.

Entries were up again this year as 239 exhibits filled Gordon Village Hall for the 2026 Flower Show, with prizes for onions, gladioli, roses and a chocolate cake, and a bird-themed display from Gordon Primary School.

Gordon's village music festival returned to the Recreation Ground on Saturday 22 August, with 339 people through the gate for eight and a half hours of live music, food, drink and one very determined mechanical bull. The day raised £4,700 for Gordon Common Good, the local charity that exists for the benefit of everyone in the village.
