The rules for entering the 2026 show, as printed in the schedule. If anything is unclear, ask a member of the committee or email gordonflowershow@gmail.com.
Entry Arrangements
- Entry cards are available from The Gordon Arms Café or at the hall. The entry fee for classes 1–74 is 20p. Entries in the Junior & Student sections are free. Entry fees to be paid on the morning of the show.
- The Judges’ award shall be final.
- For classes where only one entry is exhibited, it shall be left to the Judges to decide whether the first or second prize should be awarded.
- All entries for the vegetable and flower sections (apart from the floral art) must have been grown by the exhibitor. Pot plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 2 months.
- All entries in the baking and handicraft sections must have been made by the exhibitor.
- Gardens of exhibitors may be inspected on behalf of the committee at any time.
- Exhibits may be staged on the day of the show between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. No exhibits to be accepted after 11 a.m. when the hall will be cleared for judging.
- Entries not to be uplifted until after the raffle.
- Prize money will be paid from 4 pm to 4.30 pm on the day of the show.
- Entry cards should be folded to conceal your name and securely attached to exhibits, otherwise we won’t know if YOU are a winner! Sellotape and pins will be available at the hall.
- Only one entry per class.
- In the event of a tie for a trophy awarded for the most points in any section, the trophy will be awarded to the entrant holding the most ‘Firsts’.
- All work shown in the Handicraft section must have been completed since the last show. Professional Artists selling their work are not eligible to enter.
- Materials for Floral Art exhibits may be bought or home grown.
- All cups to be handed back after the prize winners’ photo, so they can be engraved and returned to you as soon as possible.
